Shi Shailendra (Founder & CEO)
Shi Shailendra actively serves as the CEO of Shailendra Group. Shi's contributions to metro Atlanta in the areas of transportation planning, land use issues, and zoning span nearly three decades. As a graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1971, Shi holds a Masters of Civil Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Georgia. He has provided contracting and consulting services to the State Department of Transportation, the Atlanta Regional Commission, and metro counties for the design and development of efficient road systems. In 1973, Shi began his involvement with the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Rainbow House.  He is a founder and trustee of the Hindu Temple of Atlanta, Inc. located in Riverdale, Ga.  He served on the Board of Directors and is a Life Member of the India America Cultural Association.  Shi organized the Peach State Bank in Riverdale, Ga. and served on the Board of Directors.  He also served on the Advisory Board for First Bank of Georgia.  As a member of the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce he continues to be active in the development of Clayton County and is a past member of the board of directors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. In 1998 Shi was appointed to the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) by the Governor. Shi is a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Woodward Academy. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Shi was recently appointed as one of the board members for Georgia Tech's College of Engineering. In 2007, he was also appointed to serve as a board member for the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

 

Bruce Sanders (Chief Financial Officer)
Bruce Sanders serves as Chief Financial Officer of Shailendra Group.  Since joining the company, he has assumed responsibility for all financial aspects of the organization. Bruce has over 15 years of experience in finance and real estate. He began his career with BDO Seidman, LP an international accounting and consulting firm where he was a Manager in the Assurance Services Group.  In 2001 Bruce Joined Atlantic Station, LLC, Atlanta’s first large-scale, mixed-use, brown field re-development, as Financial Controller. Upon completion, the development ultimately included 6 million square feet of Class A office space; 5,000 residential units (from luxury condo lofts to more affordable town houses and apartments); 2 million square feet of retail and entertainment space, including restaurants and movie theaters; 1,000 hotel rooms; and 11 acres of public parks. It also was lauded for its successful use of a Tax Allocation District (TAD). In 2006, after the successful opening of the 800,000 square foot retail Center, Bruce joined Brand Properties, LLC as Director of Finance.  In this capacity Bruce was responsible for the successful start-up and implementation of the finance and accounting department’s internal controls and accounting systems.

Bruce’s professional affiliations include the Urban Land Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Bruce is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in both accounting and auditing, in 1996 from the University of South Africa.

 

 

John F. Robbins (Senior Vice President)
John Robbins serves as Senior Vice President and has overall responsibility for development projects at Shailendra Group. Prior to his current position, John had an eleven-year career at Hines where he had a diverse experience leading complex development projects. He was an integral member of the acquisition team responsible for the underwriting and financing of One Atlantic Center, a 1.1 million sf office tower in Midtown Atlanta. After the acquisition, he served as asset manager overseeing the lease-up and overall value enhancement. He was the development manager for 1180 Peachtree, a 670,000 sf office tower in Midtown Atlanta. His responsibilities ranged from land acquisition, design development, construction, financing, marketing, leasing and sale of this $156 million development. He also served as project manager for Deerfield Park, a 550-acre land development in Alpharetta, Georgia, where he led financing, entitlements, master planning and land sales. He also oversaw the successful development of Deerfield Commons I, a 120,000 sf office building located within the Deerfield development. Prior to Hines, John enjoyed a five-year career at Wachovia where he managed loan administration for a portfolio of construction projects (including office, retail and multifamily) and was selected to lead the bank’s real estate lending effort for the Virginia market. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 1989 and a Masters in Business Administration in 1996 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His community involvement includes leadership positions with Midtown Alliance, NAIOP and the Urban Land Institute.


Paul Shailendra (Sr. Development Manager)
Paul Shailendra serves as a principal as well as a senior development manager at Shailendra Group. He has experience in both the construction and engineering fields and has been involved in numerous projects ranging in size and scope. He has also been involved in real estate and commercial development for numerous years. Paul graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. As an alumnus of Woodward Academy, he sits on the Advisory Council for the private institution. He also has experience working on the staff of a U.S. Senator in Washington D.C. and has been actively involved in fundraising events for both political and non profit organizations. He is a member of the Government Affairs Council of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Ducks Unlimited, Waterfowl USA, and other outdoor sports organizations. Paul is also the Vice President of People-TV and a member of the 2007 class of L.E.A.D. Atlanta. Paul is a lifelong resident of the Metro Atlanta area.

Rick Rogers (Development Manager)
Rick Rogers serves as the General Manager of East Bay Development, a 3,200-acre waterfront development in Panama City, Florida, for Shailendra Group. Rick has over 30 years experience in land development, commercial and residential construction, and real estate sales and marketing. Prior to joining Shailendra Group, Rick managed two master planned communities in central Florida. The first was a 2,500-unit golf course community in Central Florida for Oriole Homes Corporation. Duties included overall responsibility for the land development and vertical construction of attached and single family units. During the first two years of his leadership, production and closings increased 74% and margins increased 7%. The second, Harbor Hills, is a 900-unit country club community owned by Yale University Endowment. It consists of upper-scale multifamily and single-family units ranging from $300,000 to $1,500,000, with year 2006 closings of $40 million. Prior to relocating to Central Florida, Rick enjoyed a career with Beazer Homes as a senior sales associate for a 6,500-unit golf community (consisting of multifamily and single family sales) and DeGeorge-Crawford as Vice-President of Operations, with responsibility for multi-family units, commercial and retail office buildings and land development. Rick studied Construction Management a Hinds Junior College in Raymond, Mississippi. His professional affiliations include National Homebuilders Association and Florida Association of Realtors. He is currently a Florida Certified Building Contractor and Real Estate Sales Associate.
